He moved to North Carolina in 2015 and began coaching shortly after in both club and private environments. His approach to player development involves: - A player-led, coach-guided approach to encourage autonomy - Collaboration between involved parties (players, coaches, and parents) - Creating an environment of standards and expectations for all involved parties - Instilling confidence in players through consistency, resiliency, and honesty
Professional Experience
What We Do
What We Do
Small Group Soccer provides focused, small-group soccer training for players ages 10–18. Sessions typically run 75 to 90 minutes and follow a deliberate structure. Prior to beginning, we work with players / parents to understand the focus areas. Sessions are progressive meaning each session is built off the prior sessions so that there is consistency and flow from one session to the next. Every part of the session (including the warm-up) relates to the desired goals. Nothing is random. Every minute has a purpose.
Our Philosophy
We believe every player develops at their own pace. Our job is to meet them where they are and push them further. Individual growth happens inside competitive environments, not in spite of them. We hold high standards for every player because we know what they're capable of achieving.
How We Train
Every session balances two things: mastering the ball and mastering the game. Players work on the technical components that encompass our focus area(s). These components include movement, awareness, and execution. Training is purposeful, structured, and always connected to what happens on match day. 1. Sessions begin with a dynamic, technically-focused warm up to prepare the body and mind 2. We introduce a technical component (or re-introduce and refine a prior component) to be applied to our focus area 3. We refine the technique through repetition and adjustments 4. We apply the technique to our focus area(s) while providing context 5. Repetitions in our focus area(s) to improve awareness and execution The benefit to small groups is being able to add more realistic elements to training. It allows us to recreate situations around our focus area(s) and exposes players to various problems and solutions.
Who We Work With
We work with girls and boys ages 10 - 18. While we work with players across all skill levels, training best suites players who have experience in competitive environments.
